Who should attend NASHP’s 35th Annual State Health Policy Conference?

We welcome all who are invested in advancing excellence in state health policy to join us at #NASHPCONF22 and benefit from the educational sessions and networking opportunities.

Each year, state health policymakers representing all branches of government and from all 50 states and DC join us at our conference. We’re also joined by federal and local government officials, advocates, consultants, and students, as well as people working for nonprofits, health plans, and other organizations that focus on state health policy.

What is the benefit of attending NASHP’s annual conference?

Planned by state health policymakers for state health policymakers, NASHP’s annual conference is a must-attend event for the state health policy community. With a carefully crafted agenda focusing on emerging issues and current best practices within states, our conference brings together the nation’s leading experts to share, learn, and discuss.

Will there be a virtual component to the conference?

#NASHPCONF22 is an in-person event, and we are looking forward to seeing all your friendly faces there! At this time, conference sessions will not be available for live or on-demand viewing. 

Since #NASHPCONF22 is moving back to an in-person format, will there be onsite COVID-19 protocols to follow?

NASHP is excited to host its 35th Annual State Health Policy Conference in person and is committed to providing a safe and successful conference experience for attendees according to the local guidelines and requirements around COVID-19. Please see the current COVID-19 protocol for #NASHPCONF22.

What is the conference dress code?

Business attire is recommended during conference hours. You are welcome to dress casually for evening events.

Will food and beverages be provided during the conference?

Yes! During the days that you are registered to attend conference and preconference sessions, all breakfast, lunch, and coffee breaks are provided.

Will Wi-Fi be available?

Yes, complimentary Wi-Fi will be available to all conference attendees in the meeting spaces. You will receive an email approximately one week before the conference with instructions for downloading the conference mobile app and accessing conference Wi-Fi.

Can I earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs) at this conference?

No, unfortunately, NASHP does not currently offer Continuing Education Units for sessions attended during the annual conference.

Can I submit an idea for a session topic or suggest a speaker?

Yes, NASHP’s annual call for ideas starts in mid-January each year. Please check our website in January 2023 for details about how and when to submit your ideas for #NASHPCONF23, or sign up for our weekly newsletter for conference updates

Will presentations be available to conference attendees?

Yes, presentations will be available to registered attendees via the mobile app. To download the app:

  • Go to the app store on your device and search for and download CrowdCompass AttendeeHub.
  • Open the app and search for NASHPCONF22.
  • Click on Log In and enter your name.
  • Check your email for a verification code, then enter the verification code in the app. Please note: It may take up to 10 minutes to receive your verification code.

You can also access the desktop version of the mobile event app on your computer.

Is there a conference hashtag that I can use on social media?

Yes, our conference hashtag is #NASHPCONF22. Use this hashtag to engage with fellow conference attendees and for a chance to be retweeted or shared by our official NASHP social media accounts.

How do I download the conference app?

NASHP is pleased to provide registered participants with the NASHP Mobile Event App. Use this app to access conference materials and presentations, see your personalized conference schedule, and find helpful resources and information.

We strongly encourage you to download the app before you arrive in Seattle.

To download the app on your phone or tablet:

  • Go to the app store on your device and search for and download CrowdCompass AttendeeHub.
  • Open the app and search for NASHPCONF22.
  • Click on Log In and enter your name.
  • Check your email for a verification code, then enter the verification code in the app. Please note: It may take up to 10 minutes to receive your verification code.

You can also access the desktop version of the mobile event app on your computer.

What is the cost of attending the conference?

The cost varies based on your company or organization type and the portion of the conference you wish to attend (preconference only, conference only, or the entire event). View the various ticket types and associated registration fees.

How can I register for #NASHPCONF22?

You can register yourself and your team for all portions of #NASHPCONF22 on our conference website.

How can I submit my conference registration payment?

Conference registration fees should be paid in full within 30 days of your registration submission. Registration fees can be paid by credit card or by check.

To pay by credit card:

If you’d like to pay by credit card, please access your online registration using the instructions below:

  1. From the registration summary page, click the Already Registered link under the green registration button in the upper right-hand corner of the page.
  2. Enter the email address that you used to register for #NASHPCONF22 and your registration confirmation number which was included in your registration confirmation email. Can’t find your confirmation email? Use the Forgot your confirmation number link to have it resent via email.
  3. Once you’ve accessed your attendee profile, scroll to the bottom of the webpage and select Submit Payment. Complete all required fields and click Submit at the bottom of the page before exiting. You will receive a payment confirmation via email.

Are scholarships available to help cover the cost of attending the conference?

Unfortunately, we are not able to offer scholarships this year.

If I have registered but can no longer attend the conference, can someone attend in my place?

Yes! Follow the steps below to update the attendee information. 

  1. From the registration summary page, click the Already Registered link under the green registration button in the upper right-hand corner of the page.
  2. Enter the email address that you used to register for #NASHPCONF22 and your registration confirmation number which was included in your registration confirmation email. Can’t find your confirmation email? Use the Forgot your confirmation number link to have it resent via email.
  3. Once you’ve accessed your attendee profile, scroll to the bottom of the webpage and select Transfer Registration. Enter the new attendee’s name and email and submit. You will be asked to confirm that transfer of your registration a second time before the transfer is complete as this action cannot be reversed once complete.
  4. The attendee that you’ve transferred your registration to will receive an email notification.

How do I modify my registration?

Need to make changes to your registration? Follow these steps:

  1. From the registration summary page, click the Already Registered link under the green registration button in the upper right-hand corner of the page.
  2. Enter the email address that you used to register for #NASHPCONF22 and your registration confirmation number which was included in your registration confirmation email. Can’t find your confirmation email? Use the Forgot your confirmation number link to have it resent via email.
  3. Once you’ve accessed your attendee profile, scroll to the bottom of the webpage and select Modify Registration to make your edits.
  4. You must click the Next button at the bottom of each page until you reach the final registration page where you will click Submit. Your changes will not be saved unless you review each registration page and submit at the end.

What is the cancellation policy?

If you wish to cancel your registration on or before Friday, August 12, 2022, NASHP will refund the registration cost, less a $50 cancellation fee. No refunds will be provided for registrations canceled after Friday, August 12, 2022.

If you register and cannot attend, another person from your organization may attend in your place.

Hotel cancellation policies are at the discretion of the hotel and apply separately.

Travel and Accommodations

Is there an official #NASHPCONF22 hotel?

Yes, the official conference hotel is the Sheraton Grand Seattle. The hotel is in the heart of downtown Seattle at 6th and Pike Street, and is within walking distance to Seattle’s most iconic local attractions, shopping, and dining.

Is there a discounted room rate for conference attendees?

Yes! NASHP has worked with the Sheraton Grand Seattle to provide conference attendees with a nightly rate of $232.00 plus 15.7% tax and a $2.00 occupancy fee per room, per night. The room block will open soon, so please check back for more information on making a reservation at the Sheraton Grand Seattle at our group rate. NASHP’s rate is available until Friday, August 12 (while supplies last).

Will I be contacted by NASHP or the Sheraton Grand Seattle to book and pay for my stay?

No! NASHP and the Sheraton Grand Seattle will never contact you to request credit card numbers or housing reservations over the phone. Please be aware that third-party housing companies may contact NASHP conference attendees, speakers, sponsors, and exhibitors to promote lodging for our annual conference but they do not work for NASHP or the Sheraton Grand Seattle in any way.

If you are contacted by anyone who states they are contacting you on behalf of NASHP or the Sheraton Seattle Grand to book reservations and obtain credit card information, it is a scam. Please exercise extreme caution.
