States with Palliative Care Information Programs

Updated August 30, 2022

More than a dozen states across the country have passed legislation establishing education programs to promote palliative care among health care providers and the public. Their education efforts, featured on state public health websites, are designed to inform providers and consumers about palliative care for individuals with serious illnesses. The states’ websites provide an overview of palliative care, and often identify the advantages of palliative care delivery, options to access palliative care in the state, and links to resources.
